Last week, Goodwill Industries of Southern New Jersey & Philadelphia hosted the grand finale to its yearlong 75th anniversary. The celebration was a culmination of a year filled with commemorations and events, honoring the organization’s significant milestone.
Honoring Holman
Goodwill’s 75th Anniversary Awards Reception took place at Laurel Creek Country Club in Mount Laurel, NJ. The evening’s spotlight shone brightly on Holman, a family-owned automotive service company, as they received Goodwill’s esteemed Helms Award. This accolade recognizes Holman’s unwavering dedication to philanthropy in South Jersey and beyond. Holman’s commitment extends beyond the $4 million donated to local charities but also to their employees actively engaged in volunteering. Last year, over 1,700 Holman volunteers put in more than 5,000 community service hours, showcasing the power of collective goodwill. Goodwill itself had the privilege of benefiting from Holman’s Days of Caring, where volunteers painted the offices at Goodwill’s corporate headquarters on October 5th.
Funds raised from the event support Goodwill’s Helms Academy, a program that offers tuition-free basic adult education, allowing those who left high school to earn their diploma and college credits simultaneously.
