Based in Bellmawr, NJ, Goodwill Home Medical Equipment (GHME) sells refurbished home medical equipment for adults and children out of a 16,000 square foot warehouse based in Bellmawr, NJ. Back in 2017, NBC-10 aired a segment on the savings to be had on everything from wheelchairs, canes, and crutches to electric scooters, bath items androllators. The segment did more than raise awareness of our vast inventory of discounted medical equipment available in the Greater Philadelphia Metropolitan area—it reached another continent through a local South Jersey resident.
When Lori Greenawalt, a volunteer for Medical Ministry International – Peru, saw the segment, she immediately connected with GHME Vice President Lynn Tighe. Together, they forged a lasting partnership to provide much-needed adaptive pediatric equipment to children with disabilities in Peru. Their joint efforts have resulted in multiple shipments of essential items like wheelchairs, Hoyer lifts, walkers and much more. “Through this partnership, the children of Peru are getting the equipment they need to participate in life and their families get to experience the joy of watching them flourish,” said Greenawalt. “We are eternally grateful for our partnership with Goodwill. It is allowing us to expand our reach to schools and orphanages throughout Peru.”
