At age 42, Denise was interested in a new career and aspired to follow in her cousins’ footsteps in the prospering trucking industry. But first she needed to attain her Commercial Driver’s License Class B (CDL-B). She was about to enroll in a rather pricey CDL-B training program when she discovered Goodwill offered one that was 100% tuition free! Goodwill’s CDL-B training program offered all the same components including classroom and behind-the-wheel training but with no out-of-pocket expenses. “Goodwill’s CDL-B Instructor Mary Cunningham welcomed me into her class and made me truly excited to fulfill my goal,” said Denise.
After six months, Denise passed her written tests with ease and completed all of her behind-the-wheel training. Today, she is gainfully employed by Yellowbird Bus Company and is feeling confident and empowered in her new career.
